What it is
Cody is Sourcegraph's AI coding assistant, available as a VS Code and JetBrains extension. Its key differentiator is deep codebase awareness: it uses Sourcegraph's code search engine to understand your entire repository, not just the files you have open. This makes it especially strong for large codebases, monorepos, and tasks that require cross-file reasoning.
Aoki evaluates Cody by workflow fit, codebase awareness depth, setup friction, and how well it maps to real development habits.
